Kim’s Story: The Priceless Value of Local Healthcare

“Excellent local healthcare is priceless,” said Kim Corkum. “Because when you need it, you need it.”

As a realtor, Kim knows that high-quality healthcare helps make a community desirable. And as a lifelong Warwick resident, she knows how important it is to have St. Anthony Community Hospital here for all of us.

Kim is a longtime donor to the hospital. She gives charitable contributions to the Bon Secours Warwick Health Foundation because she believes that everyone shares the responsibility to support local healthcare.

She also gives to express gratitude to St. Anthony’s healthcare providers. At the height of the pandemic, Kim’s father, Rocco Manno, 88, was treated for COVID-19 at St. Anthony.

“My family is so thankful to the staff,” she said. “We were not able to come into the hospital because of pandemic restrictions, but the doctors and nurses were virtually by our side throughout it all. They kept us up to date on Dad’s condition at least twice a day.”

Rocco has fully recovered. He is back to working on the family farm, driving the tractor, making hay and looking better than ever. He reflects back on his stay at St. Anthony Community Hospital with gratitude. “I didn’t have to ask the staff for much because they were always right there for me with everything I needed,” he said. “Everyone took really good care of me and made me feel comfortable.”
