Fourth Annual Margaretville Hospital Art Auction Raised Funds for New Heliport

The successful auction, held at MTC Community Room, featured artwork by local artists

MARGARETVILLE, N.Y. (May 21, 2024) – More than 100 people attended Margaretville Hospital’s Fourth Annual Art Auction, held on Saturday, May 18 at the MTC Community Room in Margaretville. The event – which featured art by Patrice Lorenz, Christie Scheele, Michael Reichman, Judy Howie-Coury, Hunt Slonem and other local artists – was a huge success. Attendees were able to preview the artwork both online and at a preview reception held at River Rock Events in Delhi.

Proceeds from the Margaretville Hospital art auction will support the Margaretville Hospital Heliport Project. Currently, when Margaretville Hospital patients need to be transported by helicopter to another facility, transport helicopters are called and land in a space roughly half a mile from the hospital, with patients shuttled by ambulance to the landing zone.

The construction of a Margaretville Hospital heliport will reduce the time it takes to get patients who need critical care to a higher acuity medical center. The heliport will also help preserve first responder resources, minimize the number of clinical personnel needed for transport, reduce risk associated with patient transfers, and increase access to trauma care specialists.

Sponsors of the event included:
